Building Healthy Superheroes (Kindergartners Only) Is Back!

For the third year, this program is completely virtual

La excursión Building Healthy Superheroes es un programa divertido e interactivo diseñado para estudiantes de jardín de infantes. The program teaches healthy and safe lifestyle choices for children.

La excursión tiene dos áreas: Wellness World y Safety City. A medida que los estudiantes recorren Wellness World, aprenderán la importancia de comer frutas y verduras, limitar el tiempo ante las pantallas, mantenerse activos, evitar las bebidas azucaradas, cuidar sus dientes y reconocer sus emociones.

In Safety City, they will learn to always buckle up and use a booster seat; to use a bicycle helmet for every ride, every time; to never put their feet in the street until they have looked left-right-left and listened; and to crawl low in smoke in the event of a fire.

After the class completes an area, the teacher will receive an electronic badge, and the students will activate their healthy superpowers for the area. Once the class has received both badges and the students’ superpowers have been activated, they will be ready for the final stop, the Healthy Superhero graduation. During  graduation, students will take the official Healthy Superhero pledge and transform into Healthy Superheroes! ¡El maestro ahora puede premiar a sus alumnos con sus propias capas de Healthy Superhero!

Reasons to Host the Building Healthy Superheroes Virtual Field Trip

¿Qué sucede después de registrarme?

• Recibirá un correo electrónico de confirmación una vez que se reciba su registro. This email will contain a link to download the teacher’s toolkit. It will contain everything needed for the virtual learning experience, except for graduation capes. These will arrive within two to three weeks after date of registration. Be sure to complete the program by 28 de abril de 2023.

What is the Parent Contact Permission Form?

• This form allows us to communicate with parents as their child attends the Healthy Superhero training academy. 
• Parents will receive emails with tips and some key points that our superhero trainees will be learning throughout the program. This will allow families to be a part of the virtual field trip.

¿Cuándo reciben los estudiantes sus capas?

• Capes will be mailed to teachers after registration to give out to their students. Please allow two to three weeks for delivery of the capes and additional program materials.  
• All materials needed to begin the program will be sent via email instantly.

¿Cuándo es la excursión?  

Los profesores eligen las fechas y horarios convenientes para el horario de su clase. The program can begin upon registering. The teacher toolkit can be used as a guide to help facilitate the class and will be emailed with the confirmation email.

Are their incentives to for completing the Building Healthy Superheroes virtual field trip?

• Yes!  All teachers who submit a completed survey at the end of their field trip, will be entered into a drawing for an Amazon gift card to help purchase supplies for their classroom.
• Any teacher who makes a post from their school’s social media account and tags Norton Children’s by April 28, 2023, about their class’ participation will be entered into a drawing for a FREE pizza party for the class, with a special visit from Mighty Max! Don’t forget to tag us:

The field trip is facilitated by the teacher at their own pace in a format designed for flexibility.

Four modules:

• Bienvenida a la Norton Children’s Healthy Superhero Training Academy

The field trip may be facilitated in either a four-day or one-day format:

• Four days: Students watch one 20- to 40-minute video per day followed by interactive activities to reinforce lessons learned. • One day: The program can be facilitated as a traditional daylong field trip.
