If an earlier appointment with your child’s provider becomes available, we will notify you via text and/or email, and you can choose to reschedule.

How Does It Work?

From a Computer

• Sign in to Norton MyChart or open a free account.
• Select your child’s account.
• Select the “Visits” tab at the top of the page.
• You will be redirected to a page showing your child’s upcoming appointments.
• Click on the appointment for which you would like to be placed on the wait list.
• If a wait list is available, you will have the option to select “Get On Wait List.”

From the Mobile App

• If you don’t already have the mobile app, download the MyChart app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, and sign in.
• From proxy access to your child’s account, touch the Appointments icon in the top right corner. This takes you to a listing of your child’s future appointments.
• Tap on the appointment for which you would like to be placed on the wait list.
• If a wait list is available, you will have the option to select “Get On Wait List.”

You will receive a notification from your Norton MyChart account if an earlier appointment becomes available. If you don’t want the earlier appointment, you will keep your originally scheduled time and you can wait for another earlier appointment to become available.

If you are offered a new appointment and want to accept it, be sure to confirm it as soon as possible. Wait list offers for new appointments are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and will expire after about 15 hours.

How Do I Receive Norton MyChart Text Notifications?

1. Sign in to your Norton MyChart account.
2. Select your child’s account.
3. You may receive a pop-up alert with instructions about updating notifications, or go to your notification preferences to opt in to receive new wait list offer text messages.
   • Select Notifications from either Preferences on a computer or Account Settings in the mobile app.

What Do I Do When I Receive a Wait List Offer?

1. As soon as you receive a wait list notification, log in to your Norton MyChart account.
2. From proxy access to your child’s account or the My Appointments menu, select My Upcoming Appointments. (If using the mobile app, select Appointments.)
3. Review the new appointment time offer, and choose whether you’d like to keep your current appointment or switch to the new appointment.

If you choose to keep your current appointment or do not claim the new appointment offer before it expires, no further action is required. You will keep your original appointment and remain on the wait list. You will be notified if additional appointment times become available.

You may receive wait list offers for each appointment you have scheduled with a Norton Healthcare provider offering this convenient option.

How Do I Get Proxy Access to My Child’s Account?

Before you can get on a wait list for your child’s appointment, you will need your own free Norton MyChart account. Once you have an account, sign on from a computer and choose the “Your Menu” icon at the top of the page, select “Personalize” from the dropdown menu, then select “Request access to a minor’s record.” You will receive a notification once access has been set up. The child’s profile will show up on your home screen every time you sign in on the mobile app or a computer.
